About our designer

The designs of Ottimare are made by Marloes Otten in her studio in Epe in the Netherlands. With a background as a graphic designer (design agency Krekwerk) and as an artist, she converts her knowledge into appealing designs. For her creations, she draws on subjects from the past or present. By combining different styles, old and new elements, a unique design is created, often with a narrative character. She describes this style with the term retropluralism. A new truth is created from many building blocks and the interpretation leaves it to the lovers of Ottimare.
