OttimareThe fact that beautiful fans can remain beautiful for centuries is proven by the many beautiful specimens in the museums. But to enjoy a fan for a long time, you must follow a few rules. Read the following tips:
Keep the fan away from water or other cleaning products.
Normally you don't have to clean your fan. You can gently dust the fan with a soft dry cloth.
Fans are not (safe) toys.
So don't give your fan to children if you want to keep it intact.
Open and close a hand fan elegantly and without force.
Avoid overstretching by opening the fan too wide. With a quality fan, all the folds will fall into the right place every time.
Protect your fan when you take it with you
Be careful with fans in your handbag. You don't want to get dust, coins, or sharp objects between the fabric. Obviously, you don't put other heavy items on your fan and don't put your fan in your trouser pocket. Because accidentally sitting on it doesn't do him any good.
Store your fan when you're not using it.
Fold it up and wrap them individually in acid-free paper. It is best to store them in a box in a dark, dry and not too warm place. So don't put the box on top of the heating.
Do you want to use an unfolded fan as decoration?
Don't do this in the bathroom or kitchen. Avoid exposure to sunlight or lighting for too long and avoid heat sources and damp areas. Leaving a fan open for too long is not recommended, as deformation can occur.
