About

the design

A tangram puzzle consists of 7 pieces. The word part 'Tang' is derived from the Chinese Tang dynasty and 'gram' stands for the Greek word ‘gramma’ which, roughly translated, means 'image'. Together the puzzle pieces form a square, but you can create hundreds of other figures. However, the intention is that you use all the pieces. And no... cutting through is not allowed either. The puzzle is of Chinese origin and arrived in Europe around 1816. Tangram quickly became popular there. For Ottimare, the beauty of the abstract figures is a grateful subject for a thoughtful design. On the scarves you will find the assignments on one side, and on the other side the cheat sheet with the solutions.
